Spike Collection FW2014
30 years of Norwegian jewellery design - 2014

mandag 11. august 2014

Hei !

Kanskje jeg kunne fortelle dere litt mer her ?  Bare til dere her inne ?

Flagshipstore in Oslo opening

Im so happy to open the new A&C Flagshipstore in Oslo.  Here I am with Charlotte Thorstvedt who is our model, celebrity, but also have made her own jewellery collection for A&C.

Se & Hør the most famous Norwegian celebrity magazine was the first to arrive, and catch Charlotte Thorstvedt for an interview.  Charlotte is a big celebrity in Norway.  She is a real fashiongirl, she is a DJ and TV presentator.  But she is also really nice person, down to earth and with a bright talent.  Its fantastic for us to cooperate with her.
This is Charlotte showing her beautifull dagger bracelet.  The jewellery is handmade in pure silver and bronze.  Its made totally by hand at our Indonesian workshop, and it carries the initial of the craftsman.  Its made in a limited quantity, and we think we may have to make a waitinglist.  The interest is huge !

Here is the team.  A&C marketing dept. and Polhem PR that helped us arrange this event !

Finn Schiøll, Norways most famous floweartists and TV personality made this faboulous flowergate for us !  Isnt lit lovely ?

From the shop interior when its almost ready.

As part of the decor we have made a lot of old photos from our story.  People are quite surprised to find out how many crazy things we have been doing, and how our brand has come about.

This is what it looks like from the outside.  Zara is our neighbour, and they are known for their exquisit locations !

Great thanks to Joe & the juice !  This amazing juicebar is our neigbour and served us the most fantastic fruitdrinks all evening.  The lady on left is a guest who had just given me the beautiful roses !

Our new FLAGSHIP STORE

We are so excited !  In a very short time we are opening our new FLAGSHIP STORE in Oslo.  The location is really something to be proud of.  Its in the main street of Oslo, facing the Royal Castle, and next to the Parliament building.  The adress is KARL JOHANS GATE 25.  Next to Zara.  The building you can see on the right side, is the parliament.

You can see our sign from far away.  On the picture it looks small, but it isnt.

There is a famous outdoor restaurant just in front of us.

We are working hard to get ready to open the doors.

This is the Facade.  We are starting the season with a great picture of Charlotte.

We havent opened the doors yet, but it will happen soon.
The OFFICIAL OPENING will be on August 15th.  Then well celebrate with some great surprises.

Charlotte Thorstvedt for A&C

Meet Katja Synnestvedt Berger.  She is productdesigner here at A&C.  She came up with the idea to ask Charlotte Thorstvedt to be our model for the next season.  We contacted her, and she said "YES !"   " But then I want to make my own design" Charlotte said.  And we went " Thats absolutely NO problem"   And  ran home to the office, thinking wow, this is just awsome !!!

There are lots of people who dream of making their own jewellery collection.  But not everybody is capable of doing it.  Charlotte however did a really great job.  Charlotte is a Norwegian celebrity.  She started off having a famous father, Erik (The Viking) Thorstvedt, the famous footballplayer.  That brought their family to England.  That might be the inspiration, I dont know ?     Charlotte started off her career as a MTV presentator.  And from that day on, she has been doing one exciting thing after the other.  Last year she finished her masters degree at London School of Economics.  She is now a model and and a fashion editor of a well known Norwegian magazine.  She is also working as TV presentator among other thing.  She travels a lot, to New York and other hotspots, and therefore she is exposed to a lot of inspiration.  She has a great fashion sence, and knows exactly what she wants.  Katja and Charlotte have been cooperating giving life to Charlottes drawings.  Here is the moodboard Charlotte started by making.

Charlotte made the drawings her self, she went straight to the point. And knew exactly what she wanted.  Inspired by the 90ies with fingertiprings, earcuffs etc.   Katja made the technical drawings and sent them off to our silver atelier in Indonesia, where a group of master silversmiths made the actual jewellery.   Its all made in pure sterling silver, and bronze.  And its all hand made.  The jewellery is ready for launching in the shops only in August.  So until then  you have to wait !!.  These days we are taking order from shops, and the sales are going really well !

This is the result.  Quite nice, if I may say so !  What do you think ?

Summer on the Oslofjord

Let me take you to one of the nicest days we have had this summer.  We are going on a boattrip on the Oslo fjord
This is Lars Tore.  He is our director.

We are going out on a trip in the Oslo Fjord on this old wooden sailboat from 1937

The fjord is showing itself from the most beatiful side.  The sea is glittering in front of us.  Some cheerful little clouds on the sky.  Can it be better ?

The boat is filled with food and drinks.  We are not going to suffer !

This is Franz, my husband.  Next to him is Ronald from Holland.  He is a sailor, and loved the boat.

Father and son enjoying the view.

Time for lunch.  This is the epitomy of Norwegian summer enjoyment.  Fresh prawns, beer or white wine.  Bread and mayones.  In a boat, while the sun is shining.  Simple, but so nice !

This is a prawn sandwich.  Some of our foreign guests did not like to peel their own prawns.  I did it for them, as I have been growing up peeling prawns, so Im fast. As most Norwegians are.  They loved it !

The boat is called Guri.  Such a beauty !

Franz and me took a swim.  The water was just great !  Its so refreshing to swim in the sea.

No, its not cold.  Its great.  I feel its like swiming in champagne.

Lazy afternoon in the sunshine.

Our guests are enjoying themselves.

We are not the only ones on the fjord that day.  The fjord is full of boats !

Here we are passing through "Middagsbukta".  A popular place for other boatowners to spend their afternoon and have dinner.

People enjoy this day.  Maybe the last summerday of this year ?

The Oslo Fjord !!

A trip to the Philippines -2

We get out of the tricyckle and into the pumpboat that will take us to the island. Its time to eat the mango, juicy and sweet.

The Philippine waters are crystal clear, everywhere are untouched beaches, coconut trees and islands.
We reached Romblon.  An island which we knew well from old times.  It was still quiet, hardly no cars.  That lazy island atmosphere, where life goes slow, and you can just relax !
We went to the food market.  No supermarket in sight !  Simple local food, caught nearby.  I dont think the inhabitans know how cool that is !!  People were smiling, and sometimes calling out "Hey Joe".  He he, the white foreigners are all Joes in the eyes of the Philippinoes.  We just smile and call back.  No problem !
Its so strange what happens to me.  All the words in the local language, I thought I had forgotten, comes into my mouth.  I know alomost everything, what everything is called.  I had never thought Id remember, but yes !  its still there.  All the beans, garlics, fishsorts, the different local vinegars and fishsauces.  The fruits and and vegetables.  Funny how the brain works ?  I loved it !

We bought a fish, some onions and tomatoes.  And some nice San Miguel beers.  We take the boat out, and finds a local woman who cooks it for us.  She cooked on an open fire, just the same way I used to when we lived there.
